Congratulations! You’re coming to Ambrose University! Yay! You did it! You made it! Whoop whoop! But… now what? I remember feeling that overwhelming sense creep over you, but don’t worry. That’s just the fear of the unknown!
So, you've applied to Ambrose and you're wondering: what do I do from here? Is this really where I want to go for post-secondary? Let’s be real: paying that tuition deposit is the first step in the right direction and here is why: I am currently in my fourth year here in the Bachelor of Theology: Children and Family Ministry Degree. In all theology degrees, it is required to take part in a 3 to 12 month full-time internship in a church or an organization. I am currently on internship which has allowed me to grow in ways I never thought were possible (take a look at my previous blog when I talk about learning to fly and how afraid I was to take the first leap while on internship). Over my time at Ambrose, I have realized that I really value an education that challenges me both intellectually as well as spiritually, and Ambrose is where I discovered myself. Here are a few times I look the leap and it allowed me to soar.
As a Student Ambassador here at Ambrose, a part of my job is letting potential students know about the school. The greatest way of doing this is through sharing personal experiences of current students. For this blog, I’ve interviewed a few students about their experience here at Ambrose University.

How many of you have ever walked completely into the unknown? Not knowing what your next step is, or where you are supposed to go? For some of you, you may be in that unknown right now. I don’t know about you, but I’m currently at a point in my life where stress is beyond overwhelming. It seems as though there are too many assignments to do, too much work to complete, and too many decisions to make. I have absolutely no idea how, or why, I’m at this point. BUT! I have discovered ways for me to let off some steam, and have the energy to keep going. Here’s a few suggestions:

Ahh March… the days get longer, the weather gets warmer, and the groans of exhausted students get just a little louder over the frantic tapping of laptop keyboards. It seems like just as the end comes into view, all motivation to study is lost and the desire to do school is gone.

If there is one challenge to living in residence, I would have to say that it is the concept of space. Space is something that we take for granted living at home. You have your living room, your kitchen and your bedroom to spread out in. When you move into residence you make ½ of a room your all in one “me-space”. Here are 3 steps on how to make a little residence room feel like home!

I understand that all of us approach a semester differently, and there are different ways that we work to get the assignments done on time. Now, I’m not the best at staying organized and on task, and I will be the first to admit that! But I have found a couple of things that work for me. Whether you live in Calgary with family, or you’ve moved out and are making it on your own (woot woot!), this blog is for you! Living off-campus either with family, or with some roommates in a rental property, is not that much different. I’ve never lived in residence, and while it looks like a BLAST, I have always enjoyed being able to leave the campus for my home.
