Social Life in Residence

Upon arriving at Ambrose, one of the things I was most concerned about was making friends in residence and being a part of the many different activities that take place.

After coming to Ambrose and meeting all the girls on my floor I have realized that I had nothing to fear. All of the freshmen on my floor were in the same boat as I was; they were all scared and did not know if they would fit in either.

Even though I have only been living in residence for the past three months I have met so many people and done so many fun things with the girls on my floor—anything from floor socials and small group activities, to late night 7-11 runs with my roommate. Some of our floor’s social activities have included hikes, shopping trips, going for bubble tea, trips to Starbucks, taking the C-train to Dollarama, suppers at Boston Pizza, chick-flick movies on Sundays, hockey night on Mondays, and packing shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child.

If you are thinking about coming to Ambrose but are scared you will not make friends in residence, YOU HAVE NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT!! When you live in residence there are so many opportunities for you to get involved and meet people, not just on your floor but in residence in general.

All of this to say, don’t be scared because you feel like you won’t fit in; you definitely will fit in and make friends. “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus” ~ Philippians 4: 6-7
