Frequently Asked Questions
Applicants who apply by the priority deadline will receive an update by Aug. 7, 2026, indicating whether they have been invited to register or placed on the wait-list. Applications submitted after Aug. 1 will be reviewed based on remaining availability.
We encourage applicants to wait to make travel arrangements until an official update has been received.
There is no cost to attend the counsellor fly-in. For out-of-town participants, Ambrose University and Prairie College will provide lodging, meals and all event materials.For local participants, meals and event materials are included.
A free shuttle service will also run to and from the airport and between Ambrose University and Prairie College.
We are glad to support you in making your visit as smooth as possible. When completing your registration, simply indicate if you would like Ambrose to arrange your accommodation, and our team will take care of the details.
For the Ambrose University portion of the event, lodging will be provided at the Sandman Hotel. For the Prairie College portion of the event, accommodations will be provided in Prairie’s guest residence, which offers a hotel-style experience.
Travel reimbursement (out-of-town participants):
Ambrose offers travel reimbursement gas card of up to $400 for mileage or airfare. Please note that baggage fees, meals, ground transportation and parking are not eligible.
Reimbursements will be issued by cheque approximately two weeks following the event.
- Driving: Mileage is reimbursed for round-trip travel between your home and Ambrose University. Please indicate this in your registration.
- Airfare: To request reimbursement, indicate this in your registration and email your flight receipt (including air carrier, purchase date and passenger name) to Laura.Hahn-Ladipo@ambrose.edu at least 24 hours prior to arrival.
If you would like to arrive early or extend your stay, you are welcome to make separate arrangements directly with the hotel.
The Counsellor Fly-In is an application-based event, and all programming and meals are reserved for registered participants.
If a colleague is interested in attending, they are warmly invited to submit their own application.
Yes — we would be glad to have you join us, even if you are not able to attend the entire program. Please include your anticipated arrival and departure times in your application so we can plan accordingly.
