Worried About Getting Around Calgary?

Train.jpgAre you worried about how you will get around in Calgary? Not sure if it’s practical without a vehicle? It is not as big of a problem as it may seem. Many of the students here at Ambrose do not have vehicles, and if they do they are more then will to drive those who do not.

For me, transportation at Ambrose was never really a concern. I got my car back in March and knew that I would be bringing it with me. Although having vehicle wasn’t a concern for me, driving in the big city was. The truth is: IT IS OK!! There are so many things within an eight-minute drive of Ambrose. You can be at a Walmart, Superstore, movie theatre, Safeway, bank or restaurant. Everything you should need.

As far as not having a car, there are still many things within walking distance—things like Safeway, Banks, 7-11, Rexall Drug Store and the C-train station. What is the C-train? That is a question we get asked here a lot, as students living in Calgary.

The C-train runs throughout the city of Calgary to other locations. It can take you downtown or even to the other side of Calgary. If you’re from a small town, it’s a really unique service that we have available in a bigger city. And places that aren’t connected by the C-train are still accessible by bus.

So if worry about getting around in the large city of Calgary is holding you back, the truth is DO NOT WORRY! You will get around and find your groove here, just like we all do.
